I'm applying to Cornell and currently have 6 A's and 1 A- on my midterm report. I'm taking a total of 9 classes, so I am missing grades from only 2. My problem is that my math teacher and all of the math teachers for Calculus A had us take an impossible midterm. The mean score was in the 30s and the curve has not yet been decided. I have spoken with my professor about this, but he keeps giving me an attitude and telling me to "tell [my] problems to someone who cares" (no joke) so I recently E-Mailed the class coordinator, but he has not responded. My advisor said the next step would be speaking with the head of the department, but I didn't want things to escalate to that. What should I do? Grades are really important, so I don't know what I should even be trying to explain anymore or if it'll matter to them.

Wow that really sucks. Where are you going that you taking nine courses?

I would take this up with the head and send in the midterm report a bit later.

i go to SUNY stony brook. most kids don’t take that many classes lol, like 5 or 6 but i wanted to really stick out on my application, and so far so good as you can tell from my midterm report.
and yeah, but i also just remembered that the coordinator may only be on campus 2 days a week because he teaches on tuesdays and thursdays so i want to be fair and give him until tuesday to reply. if i don’t get an answer, i will go to the head with my advisor and have them re-grade my test because i 1) think i was graded incorrectly and 2) to discuss my situation.
