Question about midyear grades

My daughter’s college counselor at her high school sends midyear grades for every kid to every school they apply to. Daughter’s grades went down slightly. Should we ask that her midyear grades not be sent unless they are requested by USC. The other kids grades will be sent from her school. But the gpa is higher without senior grades. Any insight?

We've been discussing this in a few different threads here. The letters sent that requests mid-term grades is a request, not a suggestion, so it seems they want everyone's mid-term grades.

If I were you, I'd call admissions and (anonymously!) ask this question. Let us know because I haven't seen an answer from admissions about this on these boards yet. We've all been going by the letters which seems pretty clear, but it's worth a try in your case.

I actually called the school yesterday and they told me that mid year submission is optional UNLESS you get a request, then you must submit

How do we send the mid-year report? Did someone say we could send it online? Do we scan a copy of the grade report that was sent to the parents and email it or fax it to USC? Are we able to retrieve a fax header page from the USC system? Thanks for your input.

Easiest way is to log on at www.USC.edu/MDYResponse and submit grades that way. You can use the same password you created if you filed your application electronically, or you can use your USC applicant ID# and birthdate. If that doesn't work you should send a snail mail copy of your transcripts directly from your High School Registrar to the Admissions office (I did it both ways to be sure). Hope that helps.
