Question about minors + taking classes in other schools

Hi everyone!

So I’m a rising senior and I’m starting to think about what my major is going to be. I’m just really confused right now because I’m not entirely sure what I want to do/what i’m truly good at…

but anywho, I was just wondering a few things and I will use Cornell as my example

So If I were to be in the CALS school at cornell majoring in AEM, could I still take classes from say, the engineering school? Or if I wanted to take some cultural classes in CAS, would that be possible? My question is – can you take classes across schools?

Second is, if I am to major in AEM in CALS, can I receive a CS minor from another school in Cornell? I don’t think that CS minors are offered in CALS.

Thanks everyone

For this example specifically, Cornell [says](http://admissions.cals.cornell.edu/academics):

The page for the computer science minor [says](https://www.cs.cornell.edu/undergrad/csminor):

My impression is that most universities will allow you to take classes in most schools regardless of your major, but non-majors might have lower priority during registration.
