I am about to enter my second year of college, but credit wise I am a second semester Junior. Since I came into college with a lot of credits, I can graduate a year early. Last year a declared a major in Marketing and minors in Historic Preservation and Entrepreneurship. Looking ahead, if I want to graduate a year early, I will need to take 18 credits each semester, including some summer classes next summer. If I drop my Entrepreneurship minor, though, I will have a much lighter load throughout the next two years. Is keeping my entrepreneurship minor that important? I took the intro course last Spring and thought that it was interesting, but did not really feel that it applied to what I wanted to do after college. If it helps I plan to work in marketing or real estate when I graduate college, and maybe eventually go onto get an MBA.
minors really don’t matter much unless they prove a specific competency - say Spanish… Other than that, they won’t make much difference in the job market nor for grad school. If you are intent on graduating early, drop Entrepreneurship, you’ll cover much of the material in your Marketing program and can take a class or two for personal knowledge, without worrying about checking all the boxes for . a minor.
