Question About Music Industry Colleges

I'm currently a freshman at the University of New Haven in Connecticut (about an hour north from NYC). I'm thinking about transferring, possibly at the end of the year. I'm 95% percent sure about having a job in the music industry on the business side of things. I just don't know exactly how important experience versus a degree is. I feel like being a small college far away from the city is a disadvantage when I'm used to being 20 mins away from philly where I've accomplished and learned a good amount about the industry. Is it that different majoring in business and minoring in music than having a music industry degree? The school I go to is okay but its just really far away and I have to come back almost every weekend to DJ and I like being around my friends at home better than at college. I'd rather be a college closer to home that is more lively and more people. I'm would like some opinions and suggestions of other colleges with music industry programs somewhat close to Philly. Thanks guys sorry for the long read.

Somebody help me out

OP, you may find a bit more info in the music major forum.

There are a few threads with prospective schools, opportunities. It appears to be a field where contacts are extremely important, but I don't know enough about industry specifics to offer meaningful insight. Perhaps others here may http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/

Did you already investigate Drexel? If not, you should.
