So I sent in my application recently, but I’m not sure whether or not they received it. It was due on January 1st, and I turned it in at around 9:40pm that day. However, I live in California and I forgot to account for the time difference, so technically I turned it in past the due date and it says that my application was submitted 1/2. My friends told me not to worry about it, because they said that some schools allow a brief grace period for students to continue submitting applications past the deadline. Because it now reads on the common app site that my application/letters of rec/supplement were all downloaded by the college, I didn’t worry about it.

Now, however, I still have not received confirmation that they received my application. They are, in fact, the only college I applied to that has not emailed me with confirmation. Furthermore, a friend from my school not only received confirmation, but already had an interview with an alumnus.

I don’t think this is because of the 40-minutes I turned it in late, because I also submitted my application to Penn around the same time, and received a letter of confirmation only a few days after. I’ve tried to check the status of my application online, but I need my password. When I went to the “reset password” page, a few days ago, it said they had no record of me when I put in my information. Now, it seems to have a record of me, but takes me to a security question, and answer page. However, I do not have a security question/answer because I haven’t been emailed by the college yet.

Sorry it took so long to get to the point, but I just want to make sure all the information was laid out, and here it is: should I call the admissions office and ask what is going on? My only concern is that they are very busy and I don’t want to disturb them because it could jeopardize my chances of getting in.
