Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows the NASA SHARP program also lets students do biological research? The site seems to make it seem like SHARP leans more towards research in engineering fields...Thanks.

actually, yes... when you're filling out your interests part of the application, just stress that you like biological fields. are you applying to the residential component?? i was in it this summer at the u.wisconsin-madison, which is known for its medical school. almost all of the kids there were doing like cancer research and other biological research, and i was one of the only ones who wasn't interested in medicine... they put you at a certain university based on your interests (or as close to your interests as they can get), and each university has its own specialty and they started at different times. the only reason why i wasn't at an engineering univ. was cuz the program ended after my school started, lol... lemme know if you have anyone other q's, i'll be happy to answer them...

hey, were you lemuel shelley? you were supposed to be with us at cal-state :)

nope, im a girl, lol, but i definitely knew lem shelley...

Thanks for answering my question. So I guess on the app I just mark Human Factors as my area of most interest, and then list biology in the STEMS intest area?

For the interest thing (with the Human Factors, etc) do we number each category with a 1-3, or just 3 of them?

for the interest areas, kinglz, i would list human factors as one (and yes, altairaqua, u do number them 1-3), and then what ever else sounds interesting for 2 and 3. these areas are just areas that are most related to what nasa's goal is, and unless you are in the nasa installation component (not the residential), you probably won't be working w/these topics. they look more at your STEM areas of interest, so that's where you can list your real interests, like biology or math, etc. hope that helps...

Thanks it does!

no prob, if u have any other questions about the program in general, lemme know... and good luck!! if u get in and go, you'll have TONS of fun, and it looks good on college apps!

yeah, thanks for answering
