Hey guys,

So on naviance, I requested a letter of recommendation from my teacher for a Common App school (Gtech), and Naviance marked it as completed. I checked with my counselor, and it said it has been submitted. However, I cannot find any record of that teacher on the Common App. He does not show up under the assign recommenders section of the my colleges tab, and I don't know where else he could be. Is this normal, or is this a Common App/Naviance issue?

Thanks!

Common app is not uploading letters of rec from Naviance until Oct 11th

Ah. The only Common App school that I’m applying to before January 1st is Georgia Tech, and that has an October 15th deadline. Should I just go ahead and submit my app without the rec as it is optional? Btw, Gtech extended their document deadline to November 1st, that includes letters of rec. So theoretically could I just submit my Common App now, and then just have my teacher submit my rec through Naviance again in time for the Nov. 1st deadline?

You submit your application as soon as possible and letter later

My son had his teacher mail his rec to GTech. Naviance + Common App=unreliable joke. I did notice today that GTech has started to download the applications from CA. They had said that once they get the applications downloaded, they will send applicants a link to BuzzPort where you can check your application status.

My D had the same issue. She put the teacher recommendation requests in Naviance. The Common App would not allow her to invite or assign teachers and you don’t see their names in CA. However, in the CA help screens on the side it basically did mention that if you use Naviance you don’t have to do anything on CA. Our guidance counselor said she would send the teacher recs along with transcipt, school report, etc.
