Question about NM Scholarship and Faculty Scholarship

Does anyone know if you have to name Baylor as your first choice school for NMS in order to be eligible for the Faculty Scholarship through I2E? Or can Baylor not be your first choice NMS school and you could still get the Faculty Scholarship?

Those who are awarded Faculty Scholarships and are later named National Merit Finalists will be awarded room, board and general student fees as Faculty Scholars.”

Thank-you.

No you don’t have to name Baylor as your first choice school for NMS in order to be eligible for the Faculty Scholarship. I have a Faculty Scholarship and I wasn’t even a NMF.

What that just means is that if you did name Baylor as your first choice school, then as a NMF you’ll get tuition paid for already, and then if you get a Faculty Scholarship on top of that, they’ll also pay for all your room, board, and general fees instead of just covering tuition since you’ll already be getting tuition.

Thank-you! That’s very helpful information. At what point were you notified that you got the Faculty Scholarship?

Has anybody received responses from the Faculty Scholarship competition yet? They said they send out responses by December 23rd.

I got my notification around Christmas break, but I wasn’t really expecting it so I didn’t pay attention to the mail or anything (:
