Question about NYU and cutoffs... VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE HELP!

I'm applying to NYU early decision. However, in my school alone, there are a lot of people applying early. According to last year acceptances, we are all qualified to get in early decision. There are about 7-8 people applying early. I am probably 4th or 5th in terms of G.P.A. and SAT score.

How many of us can get in?

... I don't know where to start. What with the topic header that just screams, "I'm totally hysterical!" and then the question that would require knowledge from someone on the adcom itself...

No one here knows for sure how many can get in. It probably depends on which school you all are applying to - CAS, Stern, Tisch, etc. NYU undergrad is pretty huge, so even 7-8 kids from one school could make it in to Stern, I think.

Heck, each year NYU takes a whole bunch from Stuveysant here in NYC, so there's no reason to think that 7 or 8 from your high school is too much for NYU to handle.

In short, there's no definitive answer. If you really like NYU so much, just apply and see what happens. (Only apply if you're comfortable with NYU giving you no grants or scholarships.)
