<p>hey guys I got approved for 5350$ of Pell grant money this year 2635 for each semester....I have a scholorship paying for 2 years with all feees and books taken care of plus i have 4 years of pre-paid college tuition....is there a way besides a book voucher that i can get my pell grant money before the first day of school....because i want to buy my laptop and stuff.....if not can i ask for a voucher for books and actually get my laptop instead.....or get that money instead since my books are already paid for thanks!</p>
<p>I’m 99.9% sure you have to complete 60% of the time for which your college takes money out. Such as if your college goes by quarters or semesters. Then you can request the refund of surplus funds or whatever you would like to call it.</p>
<p>More than likely you will not be able to get your Pell Grant funds until after you have started the semester, probably some time after the add/drop date. You can confirm this with your school’s FA Office or Business Office.</p>
<p>i have never heard that you had to complete 60% of your semester to get your refund…and if i got a textbook voucher do they give me a set amount of money…?can i buy other things with that voucher</p>

<p>There really isn’t an income cut off. It’s a factor of EFC (which can vary from year to year). Income plays a large role in EFC, but there are a large number of other factors which play into it as well.</p>
