Is there any particular aspect of a student
that penn look for in the application?
ex. leadership, GPA, SATS, ECs,

i think they look at everything. if you dont have the GPA and/or the SATs it is very hard to get into a school like Penn (unless you are a recruited athlete or have a big legacy). Once you pass through the initial screening of having a pretty good scores, then the rest of the application from essays and ECs and leadership and recs will make or break you. if all you are is a 4.0 and 2400 student who does nothing but study you will not get in. Not one of these things will get you into Penn, but you need a very good mix of all. I think the most important part is the "Why Penn" essay because if you can't write a good essay, it shows you really dont want to go to Penn that badly and they will reject you for the thousands of students who write compelling essays and show they want to go to Penn.
