So I have all of my materials required for admissions submitted in the portal. Application Fee and Official Test Scores are marked as complete and my SRAR says received. However, I’m just wondering what the application status box means when it says “Your application materials are being verified.” Is there some sort of issue, or are they actually considering my application? I’m the oldest sibling so I don’t really know much about the application process. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
@UniGirl815 I called admission about this exact question and they said that they just have to input all your info from your SRAR to their internal system. They are working as fast as possible to do that. Once that is complete that section will be marked complete from received.
Should they use the term " being verified as received" instead of the scary phrase “being verified” ?
@Publisher D19 says “received” for SRAR. Does yours say “verified”?
@SAD1010: Sorry, but my post above must not be clear. I am an adult poster suggesting that Penn State could have worded the notice in a more informative & less frightening fashion than just by writing to OP : “Your application materials are being verified.”
Verified means that they are determining if you have the right classes to apply to the major you chose. They input all of the info from the SRAR and then they can move forward with your application if all of the requirements to apply have been met (i.e. number of high school years of math for example). It isn’t that it was just ‘received’ which is why they don’t just say ‘received’. They are, in fact, being verified, thus the word.
