Prompt #1 (transfer applicants)

What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field — such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities — and what you have gained from your involvement.

I've finished the first part (how my interest in my major developed) but I have no extra curriculars that are related to my major. What do most people usually write here? Since UCs aren't too concerned about ECs from transfer applicants, I'm guessing there are a lot of people in the same situation.

It states any experience, so you aren’t confined to an EC.

my major sort of renders itself some restrictions for ECs. the only EC - or activity-wise for the major - that i do on a regular basis is tutoring. so i basically wrote about my tutoring experiences, as well as some volunteering i did in the area of my major - though very minuscule and essentially, having no huge impact on my decision into my major. so, basically - i’m in the same situation as you. but i would agree with the above comment that any experience - class, professor, other person, whatever - will suffice for the prompt.

While we’re on the topic, how would you go about approaching this prompt if you were applying for two different majors at different UCs?

i would say stick with the desired major at the preferred uc…

Noregret - I’m actually doing the same thing (sociology to UCB and psychology to UCLA) but I wrote about my interest in social psychology, so that sort of works out for me.

As for my initial question, I’ll probably just write about one of my previous classes. What’s everyone else writing about for this part?
