Question about Personal Statements....

What's the general consensus on how the admissions officers will view these responses? I responded to the New Yorker question/the Movie question/the Poem being a bit dramatic/unrealistic. Is it okay that these are written in good humor? I mean, from looking at the nature of the questions, i feel like they're expecting to get some wacky responses. However, I definitely answered the question about my intended major quite seriously so it's not as if I'm taking the application too lightly.

I doubt they’re looking for anything specific. They just want to get a sense of who you are.

I’ve gone with my gut and I’m happy with what’ve come up for these supplements. I do wonder if they’ll “get” aspects of my responses, but I wrote what felt honest to me so if I end up getting rejected, I won’t have any dishonest with myself to point to and blame.
