question about placement & english classes!

All right. The Trinity website says that I can place out of ENGLISH 20 next year since I took AP Lit last year (with a 5). AP Language is tomorrow -- should I even bother with it, since Writing 20 is required for everyone?

What's the difference between ENGLISH 20, ENGLISH 29, and Writing 20?

I skipped Lit because I had Language credit. I think that either one will let you take pretty much whatever English course you want.

Writing 20 doesn't seem to be related, as it is required no matter what.

My understanding is that neither test really has any impact on the English major -- if you want further information about the major, check out its requirements on the department website.

If you're just wondering about placement, you should know that "placing out" is no longer even a relevant concept in a department like English. The vast majority of courses can be taken at any time by pretty much anyone. You can learn more about this by consulting the course schedule on the registrar website, where most of the English courses have no listed (or even implied) prerequisites.

A pity the English dept. website seems to be down! Thanks for the advice.
