Im planning on applying to the UC's during July for the Winter Quarter. My main choice is UCI (bio major), im currently at Irvine Valley College. After this semester i will have Both my Bio classes done(bio93+94), and i allready completed 1 of the chem classes (chem1a). I'm planning on taking chem1b and my second writing class over summer, but i still need to take my Bio lab (94L), there is no way to take the lab over summer as only 1 class is being offered and it conflicts with the chem/writing2 classes im taking, so i would have to take that lab during the Fall (not a big deal), but i heard that all pre-reqs need to be done by summer. Will this hurt me bad?

By the end summer i will have these done for my major prep ( for bio majors at UCI i need Chem1a/b, bio 93/94/94L, done as prereqs for the major)

Bio 1 + Bio1L
Bio93
Bio94
Chem 1a
Chem 1b
psych 10 (stats)

Plans for fall

Chem 12a (ochem)
Bio 97 (genetics)
math 3a (calc)

So when i transfer for winter quarter i can take biochem, and the rest of my ochem, and physics that year, i will probably not graduate on time regardless, im thinking about applying for pharmaceutical sciences once im in as a biomajor, if i dont get into uci, i would plan on majoring in biochem/molecular bio.

The main thing is my GPA is low, right around 3.0, it could be up to 3.2 depending on the grades i get this semester. I plan on doing the TAG for UCI, as long as i have a 3.0 before summer. The other thing is iv'e been doing undergrad research at uci medical school since last summer, i contacted a professor last summer and got involved with her lab's research, iv'e been spending 3-10+ hours there per week, iv'e been mostly doing western blots and learning a lot, if i talk about that in my essays and list it in my app, how much weight would that hold on admissions decisions, i also volunteered at UCI medical center over the summer when i was a junior in HS. I would really like to get accepted into other UC's as well but my gpa is pretty low (currently 2.95), again after this semester it will be over 3.0.
