Question about R&C requirement

<p>Hey there!
Would it be advisable to take R1A in first sem of my freshman year vs. taking History7A? One person I've talked to when i visited Berk wished that he had taken it during his first sem. Any advise would be helpful =)</p>

<p>Also, I read from a CalSO handout that one of the prereqs for pre-vet is a year of English (writing intensive classes) and it says that I can choose from courses "that fulfill the Reading & Composition requirement". Does this mean that I can choose ANY of the R&C classes offered (e.g. Asian American Studies R1A) or does it have to specifically be an ENGLISH R&C course?</p>
