Question about Recalculated GPAs

Apparently, when colleges recalculate GPAs, they don't include electives like Home Economics or regular classes like Gym, but only academic subjects. My question is whether a Computer Science Class counts as an academic class or not? I took two classes in Computer Science, Pascal and C++/Java, both prerequisites for the AP Computer Science Class at my school, and I want to know whether they will count. What do you think?

Also, I am wondering whether in the recalculation of GPAs, do As and A+s get counted differently? As of now, I know A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, etc. but I want to know whether any A+s will be given a 4.0 credit value or a 4.3 credit value?

THANKS.
