Question about recomendations (in general)

Let's say that if you were to apply to school X using its own form, and they only ask you to submit one teacher recommendation and one guidance counselor recommendation.

Now, let's say that you were to use the common app. They (the common app) have two teacher recommendations and one guidance counselor recommendation.

Now, let's say that I have a job, and I know that my employer/manager will say something stellar about me (which I believe is a definite plus as it shows dedication in your extracirriculars).

Would it be too much to give four recommendations to a college that originally only asked for only two? That is, would it be a burden on the adcoms, and put them in a grumpy mood? If so, what should I do?

(Case in point, the aforementioned school X is Johns Hopkins University)

I think it would be ok to send one from a teacher, your counselor, and your manager. That's only one extra, and the extra will add something the other's don't. This doesn't seem excessive, imo.

You misread. Two extra. Two from teachers (what the Common App wants). But the school-form only requires one.

... bump?....
