My son just submitted his application to Michigan last night. Today I'm reading about the school for the first time and learn about Residential College. It sounded like a great option, but he didn't indicate he was applying to it on the forms. Is it too late to call or e-mail and indicate he's interested in that option? Also, what is the relationship between being part of Residential College and applying for LSA Honors (which I suspect he'll be invited to do given his stats and what I've seen on this board)? Can a person do both? Should a person do both?

i would think if you call admissions and tell them it shouldn’t be a problem. but RC is first come first serve, and since your son just applied, he might not have the best chances of getting in. if he does though, you can do honors and RC together. good luck

I would email admissions and tell them of your son’s interest in the RC. Once accepted he is accepted to LSA, the RC will send a letter with an application to the program. If you don’t hear from the RC after he’s accepted, contact them and they’ll send the application. I think quite a few students do both honors and the RC together.

My D is very happy in the RC, so please let me know if you have any questions.
