Question about Rice Admissions for Schools and Majors

So as I understand, at Rice you can change your major/school anytime because you only really declare it in sophomore year. So, besides music and architecture, is any school/major really harder to apply to? Like at UCLA your chances decrease greatly if you apply to the engineering school. Would my chances of admission change if I apply to certain schools? Dose Rice admit students by school or major? Or does the school/major really only affect the why major essay?

I'm interested in applying under statistics in the school of engineering. Is this any harder than any other majors (besides music and architecture)? Thanks!

Rice does not admit by school or major, so there shouldn’t be a discernible advantage either way. If you want to be an engineer, declare that and use your essays as a way to show real desire and interest in being an engineer.

On a side note, Rice is big on the honor code. Wouldn’t recommend stunts like this, even if they did work.
