Question about Rutgers (and my chances?)

I was wondering if anyone knows the cost of dorming per year at Rutgers.

Also, PLEASE EXPLAIN to me the difference between all the Rutgers campuses and how you apply to each of them separately...I don't understand...Rutgers is Rutgers! Why is it separated into all these different sub-colleges? How do I know which one to apply to? And are there all these different sub-colleges (Douglass, Cook, etc) on every campus (New Brunswick, etc)?

My stats:
National Honor Society student,
honor roll every semester of every year
SAT score: 1920
GPA: 3.75
Rank: Top 10%...don't know the actual number yet

My chances of getting into Rutgers? Everyone around me says I can even use Rutgers as a safety choice, but I want honest opinions.

Actually they are working on a common single admit--but not yet.

Well, I have to pimp it: http://www.savedouglasscollege.org/

Rutgers College is the most selective, followed by Douglass (women's college) and Livingston. You apply on a common Rutgers University application, then specify how interested you are in each individual college. It only applies at New Brunswick.

So getting this straight...Rutgers UNIVERSITY is made up of colleges called Rutgers COLLEGE, Douglass College, Livingston College? Is that all? And each campus, (these are the campuses, right?) New Brunswick, Newark, etc. has all these different colleges in it?

Does each COLLEGE have it's own dorming, or each campus? What I'm asking is if a friend and I are at the same campus (New Brunswick, for instance) but majoring in different things so we go to a different college, can we still dorm together?

And when applying, there is only the one Rutgers UNIVERSITY application? That's good...I thought each college would have their own application or something.

How would I know which individual college I want to go to? I heard each college specifies in different majors, but how about the people who don't know what to major in yet? And where do you find out which college has what major?

beginning, I really understand why everyone wants to keep Douglass college. But in my confused state and opinion at the moment, it would make everything so much easier for me to understand if Rutgers University was just Rutgers University!!!

By the way, is it true that freshmen can't bring their cars if they dorm?

No. As I said, the three college system only applies at New Brunswick.

What about Cook College (formerly the College of Agriculture & Environmental Science)?

Ack! I knew I forgot one. Cook is there as well.

Here's some info: Excellent for sciences and pre-med:

Thanks very much, everyone!
