Pretty much, yes. I mean, I know a number of managers up to the CEO level who genuinely seem to care about and want to retain as many employees as possible even in hard times… but they are also able to swallow those personal feelings and do what they feel is best for the company, which often means laying people off. So I figure that reciprocating is fine - when the time comes that the best choice for you is to leave, feel bad if you must, but do it anyway.</p>
