Question about SAT/ACT scores

Quick question: I am planning on re-taking the ACT and SAT in October, and I know that admission for UW begins October 1st. Will my application be reviewed with these scores if I apply in October?

Yes, just let them know you are planning on taking October tests on the application and have Collegeboard and ACT automatically send scores to UW to make sure it gets there ASAP. Check back with the admissions office when you get the test scores back (around November?) to make sure they got the scores and matched it with your application. Good luck!

I was worrying about this same thing as well. Doesn’t UW allow you to choose the best of your M/CR/W scores and combine them to get 1 best score? If I send my score directly from the testing center, won’t UW be able to then see my October SAT score by itself? Won’t that defeat the purpose of that? I want UW to see my combined scores (best score).

Don’t worry about it. I sent all my scores (took SAT twice, ACT once) and on my account, they listed the highest score for each section. They did not count the Writing score on SAT.

For ACT, they took the highest composite.

Besides, when you send all of the scores at the same time, UW still sees what score you got for each individual testing date. You can’t just give them one M/CR/W score and send that.
