<p>OK, I'm planning on going to college for Poly Sci/ International Relations and I was wondering what sat subject tests I should take. I was think math 2c, us history and physics but that sounds more like I want to go into the sciences than teh social sciences. I could take world history (I got a 5 on the AP exam) but that was almost a year ago. I need to chose between world history, us history, math 2c, german (i don't think I'm very good at it), chem (took it as a sophmore), biology (took it as a freshmen), lit (not really sure about this one) or math 1c (why not?). please help me!!</p>
<p>It's <em>required</em> to have Writing and Math (preferably IIC). You need a 3rd one of your choice. It really doens't have to coincide with your major.</p>
<p>There is no more SAT II writing.</p>
<p>I also have a question about this. I figured Colleges would now require only 2 SAT II's because the writing section is a part of the new SAT.
I checked MIT's website for reference and they still require 3.</p>
<p>"As of March 2005, the College Board will begin to phase in the new SAT I, which includes a significant writing component. If you apply for entry year 2006, our policies regarding required tests will be as follows:</p>
<p>We will require one of the following:
Old SAT I
New SAT I
ACT (with or without the optional writing test) </p>

<p>We will require three SAT II Subject Tests: one in math, one in science, and the third in any area of your choosing. "</p>
<p>And from UCLA, you need 2 tests:</p>
<p>"The new version of the SAT Reasoning Test with critical reading, mathematics, and writing scores from the same sitting.
The new SAT will be given beginning in March 2005. Students must take this new version; the old two-part test (with verbal and mathematics scores only) will not be accepted.
Two SAT Subject Tests in two different subject areas*:
history/social science
English literature
mathematics (Level 2 only; Level 1 will no longer be accepted)
laboratory science
non-English language
* Applicants to the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science are strongly encouraged to take the following SAT Subject Tests: Math Level 2 and a science test (Biology E/M, Chemistry, or Physics) that is closely related to the applicant's intended major."</p>
<p>I assume UCLA has the same reqs as the other UCs.</p>
<p>And from Harvard:
"we will accept either version of the SAT I along with three SAT II subject tests of your choosing."</p>
<p>So there is no conclusive answer. It just seems f****ed up to me that colleges are effectively requiring you to take one more SAT II than before, since the writing one does not count any longer.
Also, the SAT II Math IC is redundant/obsolete. The SAT I and IC test the same level of material just about.</p>
