Question about SAT retake?

I scored a 2080 on my SAT (730 CR, 640 M, 710 W)

I have things that really distinguish my app (such as starting my own nationally recognized, profitable business during my junior year, being the youngest ever intern for my city's newspaper, living in 4 different states and 2 different countries, etc).

But I am thinking of retaking since I am applying to top-tier and some ivy league schools. My question is, is it worth it to retake, and if I do take it by the January date, I have already sent in all my scores so if it goes DOWN instead of up will I be required to submit these scores to all schools that request you send in scores from all dates taken?

Thank you for your help!

Your SAT is on low end for ivies and other very high ranked schools. Whether you retake is up to you. No one can tell you that your ECs will save the day but most can opine that a higher score will help.

Note, you should check first to determine if school accepts Jan test, many do, many don’t. Ivies do. The “sending all scores” issue is probably answered by what many of those colleges that accept Jan scores say – they will consider Jan scores if they arrive in time, meaning before decisions are made (which occurs some time before they are released) and to assure that occurs you need to designate the college as one to automatically receive scores when released such as one of your free sends. That is the fastest form of delivery of a test, actually faster than ordering a rush score after the score comes out. Thus, whether the college requires or does not require all scores seems irerelvant since you need to decide to send it before you know the score if you want to assure timely delivery. Otherwise, the all scores schools do not state an exception that you can withhold the Jan test just because you take it after applying and submitting other tests and my sense would be that if they accept the Jan test, they would likely say it is included in their all scores requirement. Those schools don’t simply say that you should not exercise score choice, which technically could mean that you could just decide not to send the Jan score because you would not technically be ercising sacopre choice on the site, instead they say you must send all scores.
