Question about SAT score for transfer student

I am considering transferring as a junior in college, and was wondering after 80-90 credits how heavily the SATs are weighted? The reason I ask is because I have an 1100 SAT score (old test) and I was considering retaking the SATs before I apply.

On the other hand I started off college pretty poorly, but since I took a semester off I have a 3.88 in my last 47 credits out of 79 credits, and expect this progress to continue up to the point where I transfer . Will this be looked at more importantly than my overall GPA?

Generally speaking, the SAT scores don't matter once you have 60 semester hours of college credits. Generally speaking, the more recent GPA matters more than an old one. Everything else depends on where you are transferring from and where you want to transfer to.

If you are at a community college, stop by the transfer office and talk to the counselors about your options. Depending on your course of study, you may have the option of guaranteed admission to one or more colleges/universities that have signed agreements with the community college that you attend. Believe me, the transfer counselors have seen everything, including students with profiles that are very much like (if not exactly like) yours. They can be a real help.

Wishing you all the best.
