I was under the impression that for superscoring I could pick and choose which scores I sent over to my school of choice. For example if I got a 640 500 ad 700 on Test 1
And then got a 640 500 and 730 on test 2 I can choose to only send over the 730 from test 2 and the 640 and 500 from test 1.
I was shocked to see that I had to send over all scores from both test dates in order for superscore. If this is the case why don’t colleges just lie and say that they will superscore and then look at all your scores instead. Can someone please explain this whole thing to me?
Supercoring means the college will use the highest sections cores from the multiple SAT tests provided. It does not mean you get to withhold any section scores from a single test when having College Board send scorers. When you have multiple SAT tests, College Board allows you to exclude one or more of the tests but for any single test you must send the whole test.
Thus, colleges get to see your entire tests that are sent and then they use the highest section scores when determining admisison. Every college that superstores asserts that it does not hold any of the lower section scores against you. You can choose to believe that or instead believe the college is a scumbag liar. If you choose to believe it is a scumbag iiar, then the separate question you have to ask yourself is why are you applying to such a scumbag college.
