I was wondering if I have a UC GPA of like 3.95 and an SAT score of 2070 and excellent ECs and Volunteering, etc and a SAT 2 of 800 and 800, will UCB be a reach because of my SAT scores?

thanks

No, it will be a slight reach because of your GPA.

really? but thats my unweighted gpa. ive only gotten one B throughout high school

If it's just one B then it's fine (As long as you didn't take all the regular courses at your school).

yeah my weighted is like 4.4 or 4.5

it's a match....hopefully, your essays were brilliant! :)

oh and i applied as chemical biology.

Your SAT I is kind of low...

exactly thats why i was asking. people said not to worry about it because i have such a high gpa and sat 2s and great ECs but thats why i posted

anyone have any idea about my chances?

Match/chances like everyone else. Your GPA is fine, although UC GPA cap at 8 semesters of weighted grades. In a UC environment, such as Berkeley, a lot of people probably only had 3 or less B's in all of high school (UC puts so much weight on that GPA). My conclusion: you have a GPA of an average Berkeley acceptee and your SAT scores aren't low (they're on the high side, probably floating around 70th percentile with the SAT I and II). Your list of EC's seem great. You don't have eye-popping stats, SO... that personal statement is going to make or break you.

anyone else? :)

Crap, Berkeley puts lots of weight on GPA? I'm dead. Okay, I got one C freshman year but I brought that up to an 89. This year (sophomore) I also recieved a C in a PreAP/H course..but It'll be an A by the time the year is done. If I take all honors/preap/5-point classes junior and senior year and get all A's (which I will)..then would that (huge) upward trend in more difficult classes weigh more than my overall GPA?

Your GPA is fine and your SAT is slightly lower (but your SAT II's make up for it ^^). One problem (from MY viewpoint) may be the difficulty of your courses. My school offers AP courses to all grades...so I honestly cannot compare my school to yours.

But anyways, good luck and I hope you get accepted =)

yeah well my school has the most number of acceptances to berkeley every year. last year we had 70 out of 200 get accepted

Many people, but many do not partake in this rule. Besides GPA, course difficulty is taken into account. You seem fine. Even if you aren't, what can we tell you now besides we wish you luck?

you're in you fool! :)! come online on AIM :(

Remember that UC Berkeley (as well as other UCs) know the policy of your high school (if its Californian) so admission officers know what your school is about and what not.

Hahahhaha Sleepisablisss :-d
