Question about Score

My best ACT score is a 33. Assuming all other parts of my application are quite strong (SAT IIs, GPA, essays, recs, etc.), is that score sufficient for the following schools?

Yale
Stanford
Dartmouth
Penn
Pomona
Williams
Amherst
CalTech
UChicago
(this list does not include safeties)

Your score is high enough that it won't put you out of consideration for any of the schools you've listed. However, colleges choose applicants based on a LOT more than a score, and it's going to take a lot of achievement on your part-- achievement that isn't related to filling in holes completely on an answer sheet-- to gain admission to any of these schools, which would be considered reaches even for the 36.

Your 33 is high enough!

your score is fine.

What is it they say is the target act to get you above the hump? I think it's a 32 (for the top schools that is), so if you don't get accepted, it won't be because of your test scores.
