okay stupid question but does the fact that im a girl who wants to do engineering help me at all?! i mean im sure the number of guy applicants to SEAS > the number of girl applicants. so do u guys think they compare the girls among the other girls?
ive been hearing a lot of different things and im not sure!
anyone have any idea?

Maybe you being a girl trying to do engineering might end up hurting you.

sounds like an insult

to give some helpful input here...
in general, anna, you are on the money. girls applying to engineering schools tend to have an edge because there are more boys at engineering schools. however, this is not necessarily the case at SEAS. while, yes, there are more boys enrolled currently, the school is seeing an increase in the number of female applicants. so, while being a girl won't hurt you, it won't help you as much as it has helped those in past years.

please go into engineering because you love it and not because of your gender.
