Question about self-reporting scores

Hi,

I had a quick question about self-reporting scores. I have taken the ACT four times, but only want to self-report my latest score from September on the Common App, as it is my highest. However, I have sent some colleges scores from previous dates that I have taken the ACT through the free score reports offered after you take the test (these were one to two points lower). None of the colleges I am applying to stipulate I have to send every report for consideration, but they have these previous reports as well as September’s on file.

Is it okay that I am only self-reporting the one ACT score, since colleges mainly look at the highest score anyway? Or should I report all four and send score reports from every test to every school?

I know this sounds like a frivolous question, but I am just trying to cover all of my bases before sending out my applications. Thanks in advance

No don’t send all score reports to schools that don’t require them. That’s just a waste of money. Just report your highest.

As for the ones that you’ve already sent the test scores to - I wouldn’t be concerned about just reporting only your highest score on the Common App. It’s not like you’re hiding anything, since you sent them your other test scores.

I think if the colleges take note of the other test scores in your file, they’ll be thinking “This kid really wants to go to this school, since he/she sent several test scores to us.” (and kept taking the test to improve your score - which you did).
