So, I realize that some colleges want to see all your SAT scores, but I’m in sort of a dilemma here:
Two of my recent SATs were a 1370 (720 Math, 650 R/W) and 1380 (680 Math, 700 R/W). I want to major in computer science and I know for CS they want to see a better math score. And most of these colleges say “we’ll only look at your highest single-test score” but they also want to have all your scores sent in. However, I want the colleges that don’t superscore (don’t use Score Choice) to look at my 1370 as my highest score because of the better math score.
How can I do this if they want all scores? Hopefully someone here understood what I mean.
You can’t, really. Schools that want all scores require you to send all scores. How they view them is, unfortunately, out of your hands. That said, I’m pretty darn sure they’ll look at your highest sections–colleges don’t think in terms of combined score but rather in terms of two tests, RW and M.
Do colleges know if you’ve sent all your scores or not? Like what if you choose to hide one of them for a college that says they want them all? Does it tell them?
It will usually say on their website. If not, ask. Note that “no score choice” is not synonymous with “sending all scores.”
Work under the assumption that it is not a question of if they find out, but when. And when they find out, it means that you application is void, because you will have signed a statement saying (emphasis mine):
But always verify with the college.Policy seems to change with each admissions cycle for some colleges, and secondary sources, like the above, do not always have up-to-date info.
Recently, I logged on to send D19 SAT score to UMD and I only selected one of her tests. The website forced me to select all for UMD so there appears to be some built in controls.
