Question about sending SAT's to colleges?

Just registered for the SAT in October (a retake I'm a senior) but I was wondering about how I could only send my scores to four colleges (I'm using a fee waiver) what if I'm applying to more? I'm apply to seven mainly UC's and Cal State's. If I don't send the scores to those colleges would there be a place on the application where I can tell them my score?

another question: I've been receiving mail from private colleges that say I have like a VIP application and that the application fee is waived, should I apply?

thanks in advanced!

If you’re applying to more, then those extras will cost you money. It’s stupid, I know. And yes, there should be a spot where you can label your score (although you still have to send in your official score report)

If those private colleges interest you in any way, apply. Fee waivers are always good :)

You only have to send scores to one UC campus, and all campuses automatically have access to those scores. Same for CSU’s (Cal State’s), just send your scores to CSUMentor and all campuses can view them.

Most CSU’s don’t require scores for CA residents, except for certain majors and programs and in order to bypass certain placement procedures. So if you’re really rationing those 4 reports you might want to pass on sending them to a CSU.

As for the VIP apps, I’m getting a lot of them, and I don’t see any real downside. Most of them are safety-level schools that don’t even require an additional essay (you could just copy and paste your Common App essay for most, or even use the Common App and most will still waive the fee). The only downside would be that you’d have to pay for a score report and/or transcripts (most schools don’t charge for them but mine does).

so basically if I send a score to one UC (like UCI) then the scores would be automatically sent to all the UC’s I’m applying to
and when you said to send them to CSU mentor do you mean a specific campus or the website in general? (i already have an account)

What about the ACT? Do I need to send scores to each different UC I’m applying to, and the CSU’s?

Yep, that’s right. Go to calstate.edu under admissions and find the “tests” tab. Somewhere on there it has the CSUMentor score code. I’d get it for you but I’m typing this on my phone.

You’re also right about the UCs. Just send a campus the scores. Its all the same for the ACT.
