Hi, I'm applying this fall and just had a quick question - probably a stupid one but bear with me! (:

Does it matter when you (or rather, your school) send in your transcript and IGETC certification just as long as it's before June 15? Or do the schools only accept it after Spring semester only? Kaz I'll be done with all my units by winter at the latest and will be out of country until right before UCs start, so I won't have the opportunity to go to my college and request they send everything to the school I will be attending. How does it work?

First you need to be accepted (decisions are posted from April to May or sometime around there), then you must submit your SIR. From there, you have a deadline to submit your final transcripts, IGETC certification, AP scores, etc… If you’re suggesting if can mail out your transcripts before you’ve been accepted, I don’t think that will fly. You can request your transcripts from your CC and have them hold them till your winter grades are posted and/or when you’re IGETC certified. Then you can mail out the transcripts when the time comes. If aren’t in the country by the time this all happens, you can always send the transcripts to a relative/friend and have them mail it out for you.
