Question about senior grades?

I just started my senior year this year and I've been wondering if my G.P.A this year will count. Will getting several B's hurt my chances at any schools? I know that getting a D or lower can get you rescinded from the college you get into, but do colleges actually look at your grades and base your likeliness of admittance by looking at your senior year grades as they do with your sophomore and junior year grades?

I heard that college administrators only consider the difficulty of your classes, but don't actually consider the gpa.. If they don't consider my gpa then I'd rather just be more laid back about my gpa and get B's and C's and focus more on studying my SAT I and II's since I haven't done too well on them my junior year.

Colleges look at their applicants’ mid-year reports to see 1st semester senior year grades before making admission offers in the RD round, so don’t slack off.

Yeah, I’m not planning to slack off. If colleges just “look” at them just to see that you’re not failing in any classes then I’d rather not shoot for straight A’s this year.

Bs and Cs senior year could torpedo your application at a competitve school. I’d shoot for straight As at least for the first semester. Good luck!

First semester grades usually count as much as your first three years, unless you apply early. Second semester grades just present the problem of getting rescinded. Bs won’t get you rescinded.
