Thank you for looking at my thread.
I’ve been applying for electrical engineering internship without much luck. I finally might have an offer but the position doesn’t sound like something that I’d want to make a career out of. It’s a fairly well respected company that does EE related things, among other things, but I don’t think they have anything in computer architecture which is what I would be interested in doing. If I’m applying next year for internships will companies like intel, arm, amd, nvidia, etc. hold my internship experience in low regard if I apply to them next year if my internship experience is not closely related to whatever it is that those companies do? Or will an internship look good on my resume as long as I did anything EE related at a respectable company? The company I’m looking at is in the defense industry and it looks like the only internship opportunity I’ll be able to get before summer 2016.
Also if the internship is in the spring of 2016 will that put me at a disadvantage when applying for internships in summer of 2016? Since I would start applying for summer internships for the year 2016 in the fall of 2015 and my internship wouldn’t start in the spring of 2016 I wouldn’t really be able to elaborate on my resume what it is that I would have accomplished for the spring. I would just be able to put down that I plan on having a spring internship.
Thank you.
