Question about SSS FA system

Hi - quick question for the families who have received FA. On the Dashboard for SSS there are little locks next to each schools name. It clearly says that if a school has locked the FA, that a change cannot be made. What is the locking mechanism for? Do all schools lock the FA application when they review it? Is it a sign of anything? I know that I am grasping at straws for a glimmer of hope, but last year we had zero locked - and right now we have none as well.

So I guess my question is - when you received FA, was your FA application locked?

Thanks!

We had zero locked last year and plenty of offers.
None locked this year either, although of course we don’t know any results.

Bottom line: I don’t think schools lock. I think they grab what they need and go on their merry way. Probably just got tired of families writing: OH wait please unlock me so I can add something! (just a guess on that last part).

@Calliemomofgirls for the insight. I am feeling very anxious today about the whole process. Maybe it has to do with the snow falling outside and the gray skies.

@Scruffylexi If I recall from last year, your DS had all WL’s. I’m hoping for a whole different M10 for you and DS this year! Did you cast a wider net? (You don’t have to answer directly if you don’t want to of course.).
Anyway, cheering you on this round!

@Calliemomofgirls Thanks for the cheering section. Yes, a wider net but maybe not wide enough. Also did local day schools - so a total of 15 schools. I had hoped that we could do a few more, but he just didn’t have it in him. It was a lot. For his sake we are trying not to talk about it…and hope for the best.

And if I remember correctly you are applying for your youngest this year?

They most likely won’t lock it because once it’s locked, no further documents can be uploaded for that specific school such as 2020 tax return.
