Question About Status

Just wondering, is it possible to check your admission status anywhere online? Or does everything come via mail/email?

Thank you.

The admission decisions come in the mail, they won’t be anywhere online.

But… you can see the status of your individual parts of your application online! You just won’t be able to see admissions decisions online.

A number of candidates have noted that they’ve gotten the news of admissions decisions as their DoDMERB status has changed on that website.

The USMA candidate portal may also show the appointment before you receive the letter in the mail.

M2inOR,

Are you positive that is shows up online? Because I was told that it only comes in the mail, and would be awesome if it really does come online!

Positive?

Yes.

My son’s appointment as well as his nomination appeared online in his portal. He saw the info online before receiving anything in the mail. This was back in late November/early December 2009. He also accepted his appointment online in his portal, and the portal reflected his acceptance of the appointment.

Prior to receiving his appointment:

 • in October he cleared his DoDmerb; he had an administrative remedial due to surgery for a broken thumb earlier in the spring. He took his initial physical in June. Also in October, he attended a USMA admissions event for Oregon, where he met briefly with Major Golden who is the USMA regional admissions liaison for the Far West region. He also spent some time with a Colonel who also was visiting from USMA.
 • in November he received a “triple qualified” and then an LOA letter from the admissions office. He also met with his representative’s nomination board. Just before Thanksgiving, he was verbally informed that he would receive a nomination.
 • In early December, he eventually received the package from the admissions office indicating his appointment. The appointment showed up on his portal a day or so in advance.

Of course, that all made for a very nice Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday.

Thanks! That’s good to hear.
