Okay...i'm kinda interesting in applying to Stern ED. If i don't get in...will they offer me (maybe) a spot to cas? i mean...i know that there are ppl who can't get into wharton but gets into upenn...thanks in advance!

No, it doesn't work that way - if you apply to one of the schools in NYU and are rejected, you're rejected from NYU in general. The one exception is if you're placed in GSP (search the other threads on this board if you want more info on that).

There are NO cases where you get rejected by wharton but into another school at Penn. If you get rejected by one school, you are not considered by any other school at Penn, but are rejected from the university as a whole. What you may have 'heard' of are people getting rejected by a dual-degree program (such as Huntsman, Jerome Fisher, Vagelos), but being offered admission by their single-degree choice (such as CAS, Engineering or Wharton).

The same goes for NYU.

Well, yes, there are a lot of people who CAN get into UPenn but not Wharton, but they don't, because when you apply to schools like Stern and Wharton, you're applying for a specific school, not the university, really. Stern has its own admissions board.
