question about SU

i'm an international student. I will come Syracuse U for my Master degree in Electrical Engineering. However, I have some questions about SU
1, it's so expensive, so is it easy to find any job on campus?
2, is the engineering college in SU good? engineering in SU and SUNY buffalo, which is better?
thanks indeed~

Yes, campus jobs are accesible. It is called work study. all you have to do is apply for them on campus and make sure you apply for the ones that fit you best early because theres a chance it might fill up fast.

Engineering at SU is definitely more prestigious but extremely difficult to stay in. A percentage of people that start out doing engineering don’t graduate with engineering degrees.

thanks for your reply~

Hold on a sec…

Work study is federally awarded financial aid and may not be available to an international student. You have to have a federal work study award in order to get a work study job; you can’t just get hired for work study like a regular job.

An international student may get something equivalent, or may be able to work a TA position; or may find work at a local business.

Call the Slutzker Center for International Services if you have questions.

thank you for your reply!

i have saw the usnews rankings. the University at Buffalo has a better graduate engineering program.

However, we can’t just evaluate a college by rankings, there are many other things.
Would you tell me anything else, such as the condition of finding job after graduate and the university reputation in industrial world?

i have to use much more money for attending Syracuse University, so i should persuade myself and my parents with some good reasons.

thanks again for your reply
