I recently changed a grade on my application. I earned a 'B' in a class I took in the Fall and changed in to an 'A' because I convinced my teacher that I earned and 'A,' but now my teacher is backing up about her decision about giving me the 'A.' My question is if I change the grade back to a 'B,' will this affect the UC's decision of accepting me, and if so is it too late?

I’m going through the same thing (kind of)! My professor gave me a ‘B’ and later emailed me that she calculated my grade wrong. Supposedly she’s turned in the grade-change form, but it hasn’t appeared on my transcript (it’s been four ****ing months) so I’m preparing for the worst - to change my grade back to a B.

I don’t think they’d necessarily rescind you… If worst comes to worst, say you received a grade-change (from an A to a B) after you’ve updated your grades in January. For now, at least, talk and hassle with your professor as best you can. If June is around the corner and your grade still hasn’t changed, worry…

I think it depends on your GPA and the school you applied to. If losing the A gives you a GPA below the cutoff for your acceptance at that particular UC, then yeah you’ve got problems.

^ thanks for the advice. idk im just worried that if I change it now then they would ask me why I changed it, but if I wait until I get their decisions would they deny me if I say that I received a different grade. UGHH so frustrating.

@jamesinho the cut off for acceptance is a 3.7. I have a 3.79 right now, but if I lose the ‘A’ it will bring me down to a 3.74 i think. So I think ill be okay I guess.

I would seriously call up the UCs and ask them. I had a friend who had his admission put on hold last year at Davis because he listed he got an A- in a class instead of a B-. He didn’t do this on purpose, but his professor accidentally switched his calc grade with another student who had the same last name as him. The office of admissions said that if he couldn’t prove that his prof made a mistake, there was a chance he could get rescinded.

ohhh shhhh…
Should I go change it or is it too late??

You will get an exact answer if you call them. To tell you the truth, your GPA is fine right now and I don’t think a change to a B will hurt you. I would think having a discrepancy in your transcript would look worse than a 3.74.
