Since I will likely get a low grade in a class or two, will taking it in the summer improve my current college gpa if I do well in the course?

bump this thread

i wish i knew the answer but i dont but im just gonna bump it for u, cause this site is horrible nobody answers nobodys questions, there has to be a better forum site on the web then this trash site

thanks guy

The grades will still show up on your transcript, so the colleges you apply to will see them. You can retake the classes for a lot of money in the summer but your current grades will still hurt you. Sorry…

Example.
3 A’s
2 C’s

GPA: slightly above 3.0

Retake Both C courses and get B’s in each. Will this improve my GPA or not?

Any further courses will raise your gpa. The C’s will not go away, however.

If you retake a class and improve it will replace the bad grade(most colleges)

cool. bump though

any more help?

Why don’t you retake these courses over summer and make A’s. That would certainly help your GPA.

It ultimately depends on your college and their policy in retaking courses. I would advise you to read the course catalog or guidebook to see their policy.

If not, your C’s will still appear on your transcript. You may take other courses to raise it but it would take a significant amount and especially A’s to counterbalance the previous 2 C’s.

I see you have multiple threads will no/limited responses. In this particular thread numerous people have answered your question. You have to remember I would not consider this a primary source of information. Sometimes the best thing to do is go straight to the source. In some cases it might be calling specific schools, counselors, etc, or in your case viewing the policy regarding repeating courses.

thanks guy.
