Well I have been hard at work all Junior year to find and get into a few summer programs I have been interested in. And long story short my parents told me after I applied and got in and paid the $100 deposite that they can’t efford to pay for them, not even one. So what my question is is can I still write them on applications. For, example…Junior year recieved admittence to -------- summer programs. I wont say that I went, but would it be a good idea to say that I atleast got in. I am so bummed.

mmm... you could but i highly doubt it'll have much bearing on your application unless it's a really prestigious program (and most prestigious programs pay for you, not the other way around). don't waste your application spot on something trivial such as this.

get a loan and pay it off yourself when you work. it's worth it

Can I get a loan? I mean I am under 18. Also could I get one without my parents permission?

your parents have to cosign but many loans have like 10 yr plans or more, you can reassure them that you will take care of it....

what about relatives? you can send letters to many relatives, or companies (they usually give matching funds) and if they all contribute a bit each that can alleviate the costs.

I disagree, paying thousands of dollars for a summer program so that it can look better on your applications is not worth it at all.

i have to ditto that (altho i already implied it in my post)

I agree w/ the above. The best programs are the ones that pay you b/c a lot of the ones that you have to pay for yourself probably aren't very selective.
