Question about supplemental recommendation

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I already submitted my Yale RD application and didn't check off that I was submitting supplemental materials (because I didn't think that the part of the application mentioning supplemental materials was really talking about a recommendation, which was the only additional item I was going to send). However, on re-looking at it, it seems that if I was going to submit a supplemental recommendation, I should have mentioned it on the application.

Could I still send in a recommendation even though I didn't mention it on the application itself? If so, should I mention in my cover letter that I didn't list it on the application or should I just be silent about the whole thing?

Thanks.

Just send it. It’ll be matched w/your file. No issues.

okay, thanks so much.

Just be sure your recommender follows the instructions given for supplemental LORs on Ys website.

thanks entomom,

actually the person who wrote the recommendation gave it to me to send to various schools, so I just put a label on the top of it with the information Yale requested (and the word Supplementary in big letters)
