<p>I am filling out the tag app and there is a class I repeated for multiple times. and under that class it says "** Excess repeat of course. ** ". I've noticed the gpa calculator underneath the grades did not count the passing grade of the class I repeated. Is this a mistake or TAG restrict the # of times you could repeat a class? The reason I ask is because it seems contradicting to the rules on the uc website.</p>
<p>What are the rules on repeating courses?
For transfer applicants, a course may be repeated if the student received a grade of D or F. UC does not limit the number of times a transfer student may repeat a course in which he or she earned a D or F. A student may not retake a course at a community college to raise a grade received at a UC campus. UC courses in which a D or F was received may be repeated only at a UC campus.

<p>How does UC calculate the GPA with repeated courses?
For transfer applicants, only the most recent grade is counted when calculating the GPA; degree credit for the course is given only once. Repetition of a course with an original grade of C or better is disregarded; the original grade is counted when calculating the GPA.
