Question about teacher recommendations

I was wondering if it it would be a HUGE deal if both my recs come from teachers of humanities based subjects? I've asked my English teacher and plan on asking my Social Studies teacher. It's just I've established pretty good relationships with them. I know it's strongly suggested that recs come from English/SS and Math/Science, but I don't know my Math and Science teacher as well as I do English and SS.

So is it better to ask two people who I have more confidence in advocating me, but sort of go against what is suggested, or should I go with my English and have another letter of rec for someone who might just write an okay rec, but fulfills the rec requirements?

I am gettings letters from English and History because they were my 2 AP classes and those teachers also know me best. I hope this doesn’t hurt me. If anyone else has opinions on this I’d like to know as well.

IMO, having two humanities/English recommendations would only hurt you if the application specifically says to have science/math and English/history or if you are applying to a science/math/engineering major.
