Question about teacher recommendations

Hi,

For teacher recommendations on the Common App, suppose a teacher has already uploaded/written the recommendation AND has submitted.

But later on, you decide you want to apply to another school, can you simply add the same teacher's name to the recommendation list and it'll automatically transfer over the original recommendation the teacher wrote.

Or does the Common App send an email to the teacher and they have to upload the document all over again, redo the cycle, etc?

I hope this isn't confusing, I just don't know if I should go through the trouble of asking the teacher again, or if it's unnecessary.

Once the recommender submits it to one school (online), any time you pick them for another school it automatically sends the original one sent to the other. So they only have to do it once. Make sure they didnt write a school-specific recommendation (meant for only one) and you should be alright

Okay, now I have a question. What if the teacher DID write a school-specific recommendation. What do you do then?

^Then, of course, you have to ask for another submission.

Ah, alright I’ll ask my teacher then, just to make sure if she did a school-specific recommendation.
Thanks for your help!
