Question about the acceptance letter

<p>I got my acceptance letter just the other day, but there's one part of it that I don't really get - it says that the offer of admission is conditional pending I provide proof of financial support, and that once they get the letter from my sponsor, they'll send me the official admissions papers. they also say 'We cannot guarantee that space will still be available at the time the condition is met. Therefore, it is in your best interest to send the financial documentation immediately.'</p>

<p>What I don't get is, if I send the financial support letter, does that mean that I have to go to Syracuse? Or is it just so that they know to reserve a spot for me until I decide whether or not I want to go? Cause it's only the first college I've heard back from, and I still want to keep my options open...</p>
